Fluid Dynamics

Our leading 1D predictive plant model has just got even better with the next generation of WAVE-RT. 2020.4 sees significant improvement in model fidelity whilst improving real time multiplier values.

Research and development also continues to push the boundaries on Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) modelling in every VECTIS release, with the constant focus on the global goal of reducing engine emissions and targeting EURO7, China7 and CAFÉ legislation. We are proud to announce a significant step forward in our simulation offerings with the first release of Ricardo’s detailed direct kinetics combustion model.

Complex Systems

With the ongoing requirement to reduce emissions and carbon footprint, the automotive industry continues to adapt and develop new technologies to meet the targets. In response to this, IGNITE is now capable of modelling fuel cell systems with a newly introduced fuel cell library, allowing the user to quickly investigate different strategies using the technology.

Hardware in the Loop (HiL) integration of plant and control models is an ever increasing part of the development process. System and plant models built in IGNITE are ideally suited for use in the HiL integration process and with this release these models can be exported to the ETAS hardware environment.

Structural Mechanics

Updates to ENGDYN sees greater user control and increased accuracy with automated mesh refinement for EHD bearing models.

Updates to shaft profiling within SABR means users can now model internal and external profiles separately, significantly improving productivity.
